I’m your friendly neighborhood artist bringing custom tattoo ideas to life since 2010 in San Diego and beyond. I got my start with the Sinister Ink crew and eventually landed a job at Avalon Tattoo II where I’ve spent the past decade honing my craft with Fip Buchanan and my Avalon fam. I specialize in black and grey realism, but am always excited to blend in other styles and try new things. When I’m not tattooing you’ll probably find me with a pencil or paint brush in-hand—getting creative and collaborating with friends, family, and other artists who continue to inspire me along the way.

Dee Benzo is the best! He communicates very well, explains and discusses options, and is a terrific artist. And if you're looking for someone who is excellent at really detailed work, accept no substitutes. He's tattooed me twice and I have been very pleased with the results both times.

D gave me my first tattoo when I was 18. That was about 10 years ago now and he's been my go-to artist ever since. He's tattooed multiple of my family members and close friends (I recommend him to everyone!) and everyone loves him. His energy is so genuine and friendly and his work is always absolutely perfect. I can't say enough good things about his tattoos and each time I see a new painting of his I am so impressed. I highly recommend D for all things art!

I wanted a tattoo in honor of my brother who recently passed. I was nervous to trust anyone with this task. But then I met D. He was compassionate, communicative, and gave me an amazing tattoo that honestly looks unreal. It made me cry when I got home because it was done with such care. He even set me up with a pillow and cushion so I could relax. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
